Wasting no time lol

..got the spoiler and wing mirrors glued on as all will be the same body colour, need to remove a few lines on the front n rear bumper and then its ready for spray :D

This kit is a lot more simple compared to the limited edition FC3S kit from tamiya that i first built, not a bad thing though, and no pop up head lights to contend with! but all the detail and quality is still there as you would expect from tamiya..

As am i, wont be stressful like the RX8 got at times, especially with the freaking headlights etc.

Will be painting the body first and as that cures over the course of 5 days ill be building the rest of the kit up

dont want to be rushing it though, sods law however will dictate that i end up getting it finished in a week rather than a month like the other models lol.

Primed :D

Cant beat tamiya fine surface primer, great results that dont need sanding, every time.

Next up will be Tamiya TS-29 Semi gloss black base coat and then TS-51 Racing blue metallic to give a seriously lush and deep blue

Ermagherd its gone black again O_O

Yup semi gloss black is on, quite pleased with it actually as i didnt want a super glossy black..nor did i want a full on matte black, was struggling to pick so pretty happy i made the right choice on semi gloss.

Now for the good bit :D

..once i let the black harden for a while...give it an hour or so..do love these tamiya paints they dry so fast and with the heat we are having..loves it

Heres a little preview.

Wet coats are going down now, kind of on their own lol but no runs or cracks or nothing, all going well thus far

the black base coat has really helped with this, doing the racing blue over straight primer wouldnt of been as deep as this, ..same with the red mica, wish i painted that black first instead of straight red mica.

..now to let it cure for a week!

tis a stunning colour when used with a black base coat

haha

im waiting for hiroboy to come back from their holidays next week, want to get some detail parts

..like seat belts  O_O

Also was given a tip to prime the rest of the sprues before painting as it will make life a lot lot easier with brush painting. So will do that tomorrow.

(prime the black sprues not the wheels and glass haha)

Decided to prime all the sprues now instead of tomorrow

give it over night to harden n dry properly

also didnt prime the main chassis tube as i wont bother painting that as its black and you wont see 90% of it anyway only the bottom but that would be black anyway

no pics, no point ..just a load of sprues that are now ..a whitish grey lol

Good way to do it, small parts are far easier to manage when attached to the sprue. I will cut the sprue down as I go if required, makes getting bits into the helping hands easy ;)

Decided against starting my mould ridden kit for now, something to look forward to in the new man cave...

Yea i did a lot of that with the FC3S, painted it on the sprue and then cut and glue on, was told primer the plastic, painting straight on works fine as i know but if you primer it and paint with brushes like i do, it makes life 10x easier and the whole job a lot neater apparently, makes sense so thought why not!

not sure how i am going to do the glass ..might get away brushing it, it has a black ring around it all similar to the FC3S ..but i really dont wanna fudge it up...might mask off and spray

After I have built this, i have a bit of a surprise in the way of next kit..it will be rotary..and will be mazda..but it certainly isnt something youll guess straight away...if you do ill cry rofl

Your mould ridden kit lmao make sure you get pics of the soggy fungus box ..but look forward to seeing your build skills

Dunno what colour to paint the interior!

At the moment it has charcoal flock as carpet

..the centre console, dash etc is black at  the moment and can be changed / painted over

dunno what colour interior would look the nicest and stand out when you look at the model.

was thinking maybe a tan and black two tone, so top of the dash black, bottom half tan as well as the door accents and then the seats also a tan like colour

help meh out
