Hi all,

I've decided to convert my savage X 4.6 to brushless and though i might as well do a build thread on it incase anyones interested..... probably not lol. Anyway I decided to go with the original flux specs which normally would be very very expensive but i found an ebay shop in america auctioning of brand new savage flux parts and managed to pretty much all the necessary components for

Cool, you've seen mine, best conversion EVA! Brings an old nitro to life no end!

Only change I'd make if I did it again is I'd go for a MM2 waterproof.

Oh, I lost a rear tie rod at oxshott so I've also recently upgraded to the new style thicker tie rods.

Sounds good ill be following.

The new flux shocks are they better than the standard eight set up. Ive found one of my shock shafts to be pretty bent enough to see its bent from a glance and another that looks bent alittle so most likely is. Do I get new shafts or buy a set of flux shox from dollarhobby or other chop shop.

The motor combo sounds like a great price much better than

So the first item to arrive is the Battery boxes! YAY!!! Well.. i was happy until i realised i was missing the shorter outer mounting brackets for the savage. The only ones i got in the pack were the longer ones for the Super 5SC Flux or whatever. Has anyone else bought the new battery boxes and found this problem? Or.. has anyone got some spare mounting brackets i could have? Would be happy to pay postage and some

Here are some pics of the new Battery Boxes.
Now according to the instructions the set comes with 2 complete sets, so 16 mounting brackets for both the savage and the super 5sc flux... but as you can se in this picture there are only 12 braces to mount the boxes. There are 8 for the super 5sc flux (the longer ones) and only 4 for the savage (the shorter ones). So hpi... QUALITY CONTROL is all i can say. Oh well still got a few weeks waiting for the rest of my parts so no rush but i am looking for some braces if anyone has any lying around :)
After 20mins of assembly i was left with 2 of these (without the outer braces as these are not included...)

Aparts from the little issue with the braces, i think the quality is pretty good, No small, fragile looking parts that might be prone to breaking early on and the locking mechanism definitely an improvement of the old version. No way the batteries will be falling all over the place in these. 4 long strips of foam are included to stick along the bottom of the boxes and 4 foam blocks to stop the battery from moving around. My HPI Plazma 5300mah 2s packs still move around quite a bit with both blocks fitted to theres loads of space for long packs in there.

Can't wait to get the rest of my parts now haha

Soooooo... Got hold of the first lot of my parts from america today :D. Turns out they were delivered last wednesday but my mum thought it was a present for her birthday so put it away and only noticed today it was my package lol. Anyway got all the things laid out everything was in brand new condition still had the grease on the cup joints and bevel gears.

Starting to come together again. Installed the new arm pins and braces.

Halfway there!

And finished!!!!!!

Now... i say finished but its still missing the diffs which should be arriving within the next couple of weeks along with the motor and esc and my pinion gears :) But i think i can call it pretty much complete right now lol

A few more shots of the finished Converted FLUX....

Decided to keep the roll cage as the esc is very exposed where it sits and a nasty crash is bound to snap those motor wires right off.

Any comments positive or negative are always appreciated and ill give another update as soon as my electronics and diffs turn up!

My motor and esc came today along with the complete front and rear diffs! :D installed the diffs but still waiting on esc mounting plate and some battery box mounts which should be arriving tomorrow hopefully I'll get it out then if the weathers ok...

I also got 4 new turnigy lipos 5000mah 40c 2x 2s and 2x 3s they're a tight fit and I'll need to trim away the opening in the top of the box to allow the connectors to fit.

I'll try upload some pics later

NEED a power cap as my savox servo is drawing to much power lol and I'm scared the drive shafts are just gonna explode when I drive it as they're silver wavy duty but they're thinner so have a lot of play in the diff out drives
