hi all

got a bit of a strange problem.

throttle servo is working intermitantly, steering works all ok.

one minute working and next its not, checked all the wires and all ok, thought it might be a signal fault but steering works all ok.

thought it was a battery problem, but gave a fresh charge, was working all ok, took it for a bash and no throttle servo again?

any help appreciate

thanks

hi

yes servo horn is mounted and tight, all plugs in rx are in securley, have even had the servo out and shook it while working the transmitter and nothing, next minute it decides to work again faultlessly, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for a couple of hours, then you go back, and nothing?

I remember reading somewhere that using a screw that is too long in the servo horn can cause the servo to act weird, Is there any visible damage to the wires? or any play in the wires at either end? also, is it a waterproof servo or not?

Swap servo plugs over so you can determine whether problem is actually the servo, or something with the radio.

This sort of problem seems to crop up quite often - easily resolved with a cheap (only a few pounds) servo tester. Checks servo and signal from receiver.

Yes..by process of elimination..trace the fault..

hi

have checked all the plugs and the wire to the servo, all plugged in ok and no visible signs of damage to the wire, have checked the controller etc all ok, its as though the throttle servo is not plugged in, just doesnt work.

anyone in s****horpe with a servo tester???

any recomendations of a new throttle servo, has got a high torque steering servo, but standard throttle servo.

had a look but there are a few and i dont know the difference in them.

this means that after this has been replaced an if it still does it, has got the to be the receiver.

thanks and sorry to be a pain

As already said "Swap servo plugs over so you can determine whether problem is actually the servo, or something with the radio."

So each servo plugs into the receiver...swap the plugs....now when you use the transmitter the steering will operate the throttle servo if it works...then you know if you need a new servo or there is another problem.

If you do need a new servo then these are cheap metal geared- http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-high-performance-race-servo-high-torque-/rc-car-products/359784

my power box thing where the switch is had some bad soldering so the power was intermittent and the wire would only work when it was in contact with the thingy. Could it be a job for the souldering iron?
