Popular Post jari
An older model and so why now? Well.... given other less popular models have their own thread... and given Sean has just sold 11 S50 into the forum... time for an owners thread for the MTA4 and MGT models. I'll start then update with good links on this opening post as people find them. I did have a quick search before starting but came up with nothing. Family tree: Thunder Tiger owns Team Associated. The MTA4 and Team Associated MGT have equivalent models - one for US market, one rest of world. S28/Associated 4.6 are same S50 MTA /8.0 MGT are the same Two versions of S50/8.0. Team Associated Rival is a factory brushless version of S50... (ish) These used to be raced so there are quite a few racing threads if you search When searching for threads, hopups etc... remember to search for MGT when looking in the US. Team Associated Rival threads are quite active now. Other site owners threads In the interests of "not reinventing the wheel". List of other site owners threads. Because these trucks have been going for such a long time there are long and rich threads: The "daddy" of all sites is now part of Ultimate RC. Another must read: http://csgbenefits.org/mgt/ Conversion / upgrade threads: MSUK threads: Bruised Carrot all new build: http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/147392-project-mta4-e-the-bruised-carrot-picture-heavy/ MrPug brushless: http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/145668-attempting-a-cheapish-e-mgt-mta4-s50-electric-conversion/ Common Mods / Hopups: Read the monsterGT suggestions above. No, really, go and read them now. plastic shock caps pop off - get the aluminium replacements. hump pack! - big tyres. servo will appreciate decent voltage. Buy a LiFe pack if you can Servo - stock servo WILL die with time. Move it to throttle/brakes for decent stoppers and get replacement. springs - blue is stock. gold, red and copper are the replacements. help with rebound after jump. Dual Fuel tanks Let's face it, S50 has a drink problem... Dual tanks helps extend run time. could do with a definitive build / link/guide for this. For now: http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95827&page=2 RPM Things of interest - replacement knuckles with larger bearings, and upper and lower arms. The knuckles are the same as the TMaxx ones from RPM, and take a 15 mm outer diameter bearing versus 12 mm stock. They can be modded to take a 16mm outer bearing, which allows a move from 6mm axles to 8mm axles. http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/products/assoc/AssocMGT.htm Don't do this: Any more things "not" to do to the truck... this is a bit light - aluminium arms - they will just bend and not bend back. For ALL hobby shops make sure you look for both S28/S50 and Associated parts. Can we get some confirmation of some of the lesser known ones? as in proof of ordering and successful delivery? I personally have ordered from Modelsport, JEModels, wheelspin and CML. Could do with feedback on the others. QRC
I'll chuck in the first mod, cut a hole in the windscreen of the shell, this improves the air flow for engine cooling.

ollietheox
Just thought I'd throw mine into the mix.... 2x S28's. One tidy, one abused to hell and back. Great trucks. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/27794-/ Twin tank on the basher, used some t-pieces off the bay to equalise the tanks. Will get a pic up later. Stiffer shock next Oh and clear shell!!!!!! Lols Go for the red springs, a lot stiffer than the stock blue. Pro line is your best bet for a clear shell.
