Popular Post samshirley001
though we might as well have this topic in here, as every other section on the forum has a SHOW US YER X threadfinally got my arducopter board working and it is SUPER stable, havent tried the other features like RTL and stuff but alt hold makes it so easy to fly, in zero wind, could literally put the controller down and take a pic

baorevo
Bit of a change going on and im opting for other flight controlers i pulled the multiwii pro out of the hexa and put that in a quad and i have the naza flying great for fpv ........................... Next up is an APM 2.5.2 with an ublox 6m gps in a hexa frame Sunny sky 2212-13 980kv motors 5000mah 3s lipo's Its all set and ready for autotune (ardupilot 3.01 has autotune it simply sets up the pids for you with an in flight correcting sequence of around 5mins and your done ) all i need is for the wind to calm down a little to run the sequence. Tamiyacowboy
make sure to cover the control board, light affects the barometer a lot, resulting in poor loiter performance, some electrical tape over it all apart from the lights will do or more simple is just to pop some open pore foam over the barometer. total covering can cause problems in alt reading as the pressure change is affected so we tend to use openpore black foam , it cuts down light and cuts down propwash but allows the baro to breath

Tamiyacowboy
Can I have a link please no links its well documented if you google " foam covering a barometer " DO NOT use any type of GLUE, you can block the barometer. DO NOT cover the barometer with tape either, its a very bad idea What we tend to use is microphone foam or foam from headsets, its an open pore foam so cuts down light penetration but also calms the propwash from the machine. it gives your altitude hold a better chance of being more precise and less jumpy ( bouncey as in quad tends to bounce up/down because of propwash effects and/or light penentration ) Edited June 2, 2014 by Tamiyacowboy
