Looks great sounds great but on closer inspection looks like its going to suffer the same weak points as the stampede 4x4 ie those driveshafts

These shafts look a much stronger/ better design than the traxxas jobs but suppose we'll have to ain't and see .

Hope they are as I really fancy one of these ,if it's anything like the glamis it will be awesome

There's only a tenner in it ..But the new veterra does have the new traction control type rx but then the stampede has a huge following and a ton of aftermarket stuff and yep before you say it it does need some !!

Wow pricey  at the min there isnt anything else that temps me so its  a toss up between the vaterra or stampede .Im not interested in the avc just needs to be durable to get my cash ,Wish they'd leave out the charger and lipo and drop there price's .

I would go for the Stampede 4x4 VXL over this, it's about the same money and you can't beat the module style design and hop-ups Traxxas offers. Vaterra are excellent quality and they've done great with every model so far, I can see this one doing well too, especially if the price drops even

Way too expensive. Used 1/8th brushless trucks in a very good condition can be bought for the same or even less.

I wonder, how much of the price would drop, if it was sold without that traction control and gyro??? Maybe I am a caveman, but the simpler and literally "more primitive " the RC is, the better and user-friendlier for a basher it becomes. And that holds true for the electronics too ( except for racers who need to adjust different settings for multiple tracks etc) If this car is aiming for bashers, IMHO it would sell better without the traction control. A reduced price would surely make it more attractive. Just my 2 cents...

BTW, what does it mean "viscous torque vectoring differentials" ? Is it just a normal oil filled diff or something like a Losi 8ight smart diff???

  • 1 month later...

I'm all for new kits and experiences but driver assist? Not in this life, I was humming and ahhing about whether or not to give it the time of day as I like the glamis kit very much but as soon as I saw price of it I was put right off.. If they did an artr say 70 quid cheaper I'd perhaps give it a look..

Nothing wrong with the basic design and layout....but the whole concept of having stability control ruins it for me. I would just turn it off and that's not good...because I have paid for it whether I want it or not.

What you are left with is an overpriced 1/10 4WD monster truck, and we already have the Stampede 4x4!

I agree, as far as I can see it's in no man's land, too expensive for newbs who may or may not benefit from the stability "features" and to expensive for the committed hobbyist who couldn't give a toss about the stability "features" and already has radio gear and a full clip of lipos and chargers
