BORO-ROB
Right guys ive had quite a bit of interest from people about the vaterra so thought id stick some pics of my glamis . I was fully intending to write a small review but decided im not too good at that sort of thing so instead ill just say so far im very happy with the glamis ive ran 8 packs through it 2s and 3s .Its very well built , has that nice losi quality about it and its quick . There is a few nice touches on the glamis like the genuine beadlock wheels although only two sets of tyres so far for them, bleed screws on the shock caps, the shock spring cups click into place so hopefully wont loosing any of them, rubber boots over the diff and drive axles, bottom loading battery compartement,12mm hex's allround and radio box access. My only gripe with it so far is the fact that it uses e-clips to hold the arms and uprights in place ....hate e-clips If anyone is thinking about buying the glamis now's your chance to ask any q's ...... ill do my best to answer them or if anyone else owns one get your pics and what you think of it on here Edited March 15, 2013 by BORO-ROB

danny boy
Looks lovely. Really thinking about getting one of these. Have you had it apart yet? I think a nice 550 4000kv motor would work a treat if the drive train was up to it. How big is the battery tray though, What size where the 3s batts you had in it? The tray is bigger than it looks I have a 4500 and 5000 3s packs that fit with room to spare . I'll get a pick up tomorrow I've not had it apart but the drivetrain is all metal and looks real beefy in the manual It'll be able to handle a 4000kv less torque than the 3300kv Edited March 16, 2013 by BORO-ROB
BORO-ROB
Battery tray size is Length 160mm width 48mm depth 38mm vaterra have a 5200mah 3s hard case listed with dimensions http://www.vaterrarc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYNP4001EC pic with a 4500mah 3s
mydoddy69
Will you be swapping out to the 4000kv or do you think the stock 3300kv is enough??
BORO-ROB
well its fast enough as it is and the temps are good so ill keep it stock until the motor is goosed then maybe stick a 4000kv

BORO-ROB
Does the battery retaining door look prone to damage? Yeah it does seem as though it will be damaged over time running over rocks and stuff ....ill be keeping an eye out but on a positive note a full new door and lock is only

rdarsa
I am very tempted to give this a go. Really its the first 8th scale 2wd sand rail I have seen - lovely and simple. It looks easy to work on - I am getting really annoyed with what it takes to sort out problems on some of my other kits! (done in a spur gear or two on an HPI Savage XS anyone??). Who are Vaterra though - come from no where?? R.

The Glamis is starting to get better feedback than the Twin Hammers! Who'd of thought?! Anyone cobbled together a decent vid of their own? Juggernaut jims
From why I've seen I these buggys in the promotions is they all have sand tyres but thy don't come with them. Shame really as it would o been good some off road tyres and some sand ones.
JungleS2K
Hi All, I picked up one of these from MS a few weeks back. Only just managed to get out on some decent terrain to see it at it's best and it's awesome. Really robust apart from a couple of niggly things - the fan on the Dynamite Fuze ESC has stopped working so I've raised this with MS. The other is that the beadlocks have a tendancy allow the tyrs to come off using 3S (it's fast!). I've not had a chance to look at solutions to this issue. Dab of glue might be required. Other than that it's a heap of fun. I had it on a gravel car park yesterday with a few jumps and puddles and it lapped it up. One word of warning is the battery compartment is quite tight for large mAh lipos. The 3S 5000mAh Turnigy lipos I use in my Stampede don't fit so I had to search for something a little slimmer but longer. I found a 5200 mAh Beast DNA that fits snugly in there and gives plenty of run time. Still early days but will put together a mini review and action video on my Youtube channel (tetrapanax1) after my next bash. Tim
MoFoHo
A few pictures of my mates Glamis er, 'flying'.... Its a gorgeous looking truck for sure. Wouldn't mind one myself. However the diff housing bearings failed, causing the gears to wear, and the diff is one of the worst pieces of junk I've ever seen . I just hope it was a bit of bad luck, as it's NOT an item I'd like to maintain on a regular basis...
