It was very very stable, couldn't believe it when he switched off the Tx and it came back on it's own and landed within a foot of where it took off. Best bit was it went to land on uneven ground, popped itself up, moved over to find even ground to land on! Awesome B)

I have but a lot of people who review etc tend to just post up when they get them ETC. Not really what they are like in the long run or what they find lacking after a few uses.

I plan to bite the bullet myself but nice to know what I am getting into from other users.

its an expensive bit of kit.

naza/wookong guys are known for UAV software and thats what your getting.

hardware wise your getting a few gyros few accels a baro a mag and a gps,

just no hassle chucking it all together and getting it talking between each other.

am not sure if naza id equipped with waypoints and mapping, you guys would need to read up

to see if thats possible. otherwise expensive but a sweet setup.

I like this too!

My question for those that have flow quads before, Pat (Toxicbasher) in particular, is this not a little consumer orientated?  Its kind of like youve been playing with open source on an Android tablet and all the flexibility this gives you.  Now you've gone and bought an ipad.  Sure it does what it says on the tin BUT its completely locked down, you can do nothing with it!  That's kind of how I view the DJI Phantom.

Naza and Naza GPS on a new frame would have been how I thought you would have gone?

I get what your saying Harvey but I wanted this purely as my camera platform, it comes with the go pro mount already and the good thing is I can position it filming the action, drop the tx and bash my cars, when the battery runs low it will return to me :) add another battery and position it in a different location etc

I'm also planning a build purely as an acro based quad but that won't be for a while and will probably be a hex quad, I've already got other bits ordered :D

From what I see of it, positioning it where you want it and leaving it there won't be a problem. Sure the guy said it comes back when the LiPo's get low. I am not a big fan of quads tbh but liked the look of this one

I love helicopters having spent a lot of time in them (passenger wise), I have spent pounds on the rc side of them but my coordination is a laugh,so I thought the phantom would be nice and safe for me to own a copter and have a bit of fun,I know there is sims out there to learn on and cheaper but Iam one of these persons THAT WANT TO BE OUT THERE NOW lol,its alright for you young uns who have a sharper brain than me to do this kind of rc but hey keep them comments comming in,its the only way I  can learn  is to read all the wrightups and comments you guys put up,..
