Bustermonkey
Hi, I really like this kit, do you happen to know the size of the wheel hexes please. Thanks neil..
HairyGranola
Cheers guys, yea its so much more fun when you get a better motor in it with more torque. Not sure how long the diff's will last though! The hexes are standard 12mm from what my tame measure says! Im thinking of getting some off road tyres, as the ones supplied dont have much grip on dirt/gravel. Forgot to mention this comes as RTR, but n a few weeks the kit version will be available. Evo_ermine
Great review, they're cool looking things. Not sure the drivetrain is really designed to cope with a brushless lipo set up though! alexthetaxi
Just wondering how you're getting on with the car. Would love to see some videos if you had any? I've been thinking about getting one of these as a cheap bash about, but not knowing much about elec cars was wondering if I could have some advise? I prefer the idea of the kit, being able to build it my self etc. Was wondering if anyone could suggest an esc, motor, radio set, servo and batteries to go with it? Budget of about

alexthetaxi
Yeah but you don't get the scale looks which are what attracted me to the sandmaster
HairyGranola
Havnt got any videos unfortunatly! However its been sitting on my shelf for the past few months just coz it loooks so cool! When it has been out it runs fine. The oil shocksa re a must and i recently found out the ansmann 85mm fit the back.
alexthetaxi
Ah that's alright. I decided to crack on and get one anyway. Been making my own thread I went with the 85mm at the front and plan to fit 95mm (i think) at the rear. Cause of what i'm trying to get out of it, decided clearance was a must. Especially on that back end which I found kept getting grounded. Some ansmann crawler wheels turned up today which I've stuck on. Haven't yet had a chance to drive it, but surprised how much more grippy they are. Will have to see how they hold out, might end up swaping the tyres for some short course ones or something :-\

Bonez
i have just got one of these and i love it! i brought the kit version. and as said uprated shocks are a must do thing along with a steel pinon i also upgraded the ESC and motor to a 15t motor and etronix ESC and its a nippy little thing now i have noticed that i didnt have to remove the spur to put the motor in so maybe they changed the design? also with the motor mounts there seems to be adjustment in there now so opens the door to different pinions maybe, i shall try it one day and report back. with the shocks i went for these http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ansmann-racing-85mm-1-10-aluminium-damper-set-buggy-4-/rc-car-products/371934 85mm front and rear, the rears are a little shorter than the standard friction shocks but make a massive difference, also what i did was put the spring off the original shocks onto the rear as they are a little stiffer the ansmann ones are a little weaker so it sags a bit. wound a bit of preload on and i'm happy with the result for now. still bottoms out a touch but nothing like when the standard shocks where on it. i will put some 95mm shocks on one day to raise it a touch more. as for the panels i plan on getting some tiny screws to screw through the little black clips hoping that will hold them in place better, otherwise it will be small nuts and bolts. apart from that its a great little kit not just for beginners but for experienced RC'ers Edited March 31, 2013 by Bonez
