very nice paul mate  ,whats it running , i can see some engraving on the head

haven't had a chance to look into spec in detail but i know its got a dom exhaust, rhino steering servo, savox 1256mg servo, cable front brakes, oddifed 26cc engine (unsure of the porting job done to it though) it also has a viscous locking diff.

the shell isn't realy cf, its just carbon wrapped.

the box in the pics contains a small pile of spares, including the alloy parts that were on it but got bent in a runaway at the msuk jam last year (which i witnessed)

it also came with a spekky sr300 rx in it, as i got a spekky tx it near enough rtr, just need to fit a pinion, fill her up and way i go.

Ha Ha the famous bendy Marder

it is indeed, dirty electro sold it to -bez-, and bez sold it to me, at this rate it will be joining the likes of th emsuk slag hyper 7 lol

thought i'd go through the nice large white box to see what i got in spare parts....

the answer was abit of a surprise

100_2424.jpg

and here comes the irony, while at the jam i was waiting for an engine for my baja, happily pieman5 mentioned he had a fg marder/beetle and that i could use the engine from it if i could get it to work.

pieman didn't actualy want to keep it, i tohught about buying it myself, until dirty electro mad this marder go banana, he bought pieman5's marder and used it to fix his.

these parts are the remains of that marder with some of it on the built marder, chassis being one such part.

wanted dirty electro's marder at the jam and considered buying pieman5's there aswell....now i effectivly own both of them.....funny old world lol

got jerre's old marder out afew mins ago.

i found out the rx ariel was snapped off right were it exits the rx case, i'll solder a new one on when i come to need it, i nicked another rx out of a car thats not working atm.

binded it all up, tested the killswitch (thanks for that lesson jerre lol), tx off - check, rx off - check, 3rd channel - check.

got her down the field for afew blasts, she is a different type of animal from the baja thats for sure, handling is just awesome.

i even managed to grip roll her on one turn.

the front breaks require adjustment as they are out of balence, making it lock up and drift to the left under breaking.

the gearing i've got on her is usable but acceleration is horrible so i'll be gearing her down alittle bit, save the clutch having to over do it.

probs time i updated this.

the marder has been run again, i changed the gearing (46 spur, not sure on pinion), pick up is much better however the engine seems to stragle getting up the last few rpm so minor tuning may be needed, adjusted the brakes, it better but not great so some extra fiddling there.

and in carrying on my tradition of naming the cars i get, the marder has been given "Revy".

currently the spares are not being used, however i have ordered some parts, including a new chassis, the front bulk head, beading kit and afew more.

once cleaned up the parts i have will be put together for my 2nd project (1st being my tamiya toyota hilux high lift) and i'll be making the 2nd marder brushless, so keep an eye on this thread :)

ok so Revy made an apearance at the msuk jam last weekend.

she ran well, still needs some fine tuning on things like brakes and engine tune etc but she is getting there and i must say the previous owners of her have done a very good job in building her upto this standard.

at the jam she done several jumps and afew tumbles and only lost an e-clip and 2 screws.

this is one of very few models i'm able to look at and say "i'm so happy to own that"

so, lastly here are some pics of her at the jam.

ah, found it.

Revy was last ran in june, where she had abit of a problem with her break locking up which resulted in hitting a wall abit too hard. the result being this

DSC08105.jpg

didn't seem to bad but it turned out it broke the plastic par tof the bulkhead aswell and bent the alloy bit on the other side both replaced with plastic parts in the interest fo having a weak link, it also bent the hinge pins which i replaced with some long bolts with a nut on the ends, which got rid of the e-clips as an added bonus.

she is now back together and after so long the battery requires charging, once it is done i'll be getting her out for a quick run.

she does require a full strip down, specifically the shocks and diff. the steering set up need looking at as it not running quite as smooth as it should do.

did take a picture of her just now though.

after filming the above i lost drive.

turns out the plastic gear carrier got abit hot and melted around the layshaft so that needs replacing

DSC08485.jpg

the alloy gear plate also came loose

DSC08486.jpg

i found it wedged under the diff, both parts a stratched really badly, diff is ok but the plate also need replacing
