Losi Ten SCTE Owners Thread

Recommended Posts

Having just bought one and seen the growing numbers of owners and interest in them, I'd thought that I'd start a thread.

Mine has just arrived today from DMS racing and first impressions are very good, this thing looks fantastically built.

I will be fitting my Tenshock SC401 4600 550 motor and Hobbywing SC8 Speedo and running 2s.

Racing at weekend so need to see what I can find out about setups before I get going.

4600kv with 13t-16t pinion dependant on what surface im running

Thanks for that. Was going to try a 13t first on our astro track at Bury. That's always seen me with good temps on my old SCRT10 so shouldn't be far out.

Would this be good in one?

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e6cc6ae12

Deano do dms have them in stock? :)

They had mine up until yesterday !

I didn't ask if they had any more, but they were the only ones I tried since all the other websites were saying out of stock.

Good price and fast delivery too.

I wouldn't worry about the setup too much for this Sunday - Johnny has Lindsey's old SCRT10 so I suspect trucks is going to become a banger race. The only way to beat the Durango's is to smash them apparently......

With my skills, I can hardly question anyone elses driving ability. My lad is gonna be running my SCRT10 too and he seems to have hardly any conception of corners. I definately won't be rushing to get my new SCTE shell on, it will be Matt's old Durango shell taking the pain on my SCTE's first run out.

Hurrah for this thread dude  Will get piccies of mine up soonish....cba at the mo lol.

One thing I will say is that 2S is just not enough juice for the stock motor, for anyone buying the RTR as I did. 3S on stock is a blast, still haven't been brave/daft enough to go 4S yet but we all know it will happen :whistling:

Loving this thread and the following the SCTE is getting. Why is it that everytime I get the dosh ready to buy the upgrades, the wife comes through with another bill to pay. That'll teach me to marry a Yorkshire lass. Lol. Oh well, save it all up again. I may get mine looking a bit like your one day AJ.

Piccie time for my beast:

Looking a bit scruffier than before, parma flaming skulls adorn the rear....

Innards after a bash this afty.....I assure you there was much more crud in there, but you kinda shake it out as you go along....

muckyinsides.jpg

Stock motor :

and ESC

This is why I had to buy a new chassis:

New chassis (by Jammin) side by side with stock chassis:

and stock:

losichassisbottom.jpg

My upgrades in addition to chassis:

mud guards, which stop crud effectively:

muddymudguard.jpg

Team Associated SC10 rear brace (plastic) - firms up the chassis at the rear, seems to be a bit more understeery now but will update in a while on thjat one..

teamasscdbrace.jpg

Team STRC front ally brace - comes with no hardware, and the stock screws don't reach the top of the mount so replacements will be fitted

teamstrcbrace.jpg

Also have team STRC shock caps in ally, will fit these at shock overhaul time, which will definitely be required less frequently than the slash!

I see you've broken a neff bar as well, i done the same, but ive done away with them all together now

002-59-1.jpg

Ive also managed to break part of the rear bumper

002-58.jpg

001-58.jpg

And i also lost one mud flap, so the other was taken off, but that is the total sum of my breakages so far

Aye, broke the nerf bar mishandling it when going to pick it up, fool that I am!!! That gaffa repair is holding up well tho  You're a braver man than I to run w/o them mate! Or maybe that's cos of the number of tress which jump out on me in the woods......

Rear bumper can be bodged back together I reckon, glue, gaffa and cable ties  or this: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_1451_1808/products_id/197804/n/Losi-Rear-Bumper-Set

I note you've removed the shock socks? I wanted to fit some but figured they would foul the mechanism....

One thing i really want is this : http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_1451_1808/products_id/222576/n/Outerwears-Performance-Short-Course-Truck-Shroud-TEN-SCTE-Black as they do seem to hoover up a lot of leaves, sticks etc

Comes in various colours tho some are showing ltd stock. If u fancy one, let me know asap and I'll stick an order in, may as well only pay one lot of postage/customs??

Im bidding on a complete rear bumper from Jennys RC at the mo

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370603302780?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649#ht_2155wt_815

As for a Amain's order, i was planning to do one soon, im just wait for the TiNi shock shafts and hinge pins to come into stock , they listed the Outwears before and they went out of stock quite quick, but they restocked in a few weeks, if you are willing to wait until my parts are instock ill happily go in on an order with you

The outerwears for the losi are a great fit. They even have heat sealed groves to go around the berg bars. It's a better fitting one than i got for my boys slash. One small gripe was its a little open at the back but I remedied that with some Velcro over the rear chassis brace and shock tower. Been using mine for a couple of months now and definitely works. Thought the price was a bit steep but glad I got it.
