So far i have been looking at:

6000KV Motor

OR                    (Dont know which to choose for a 2WD off-road mad monkey)

4000KV Motor

60A ESC

AND

3S RCM

2S RCM

2S GensAce

Im not bothered about the softcase/hardcase situation, what i want to know is which motor to choose and which battery to go with it, i will be using an IMAX B6 charger.

4000KV it is, what gearing would you suggest? (Current Pinion/Spur is 21T/86T)

a brushless motor will have more power so about 4+ more teeth but it will depend on the temps of the motor. if if gets hot it will need more teeth. a 4000kv motor on 2s will do just under 30,000 and so if you run it on your current pin and spur it will be slower

wouldnt i need less teeth on the pinion if it gets too hot?

normally it's going too fast or over revving which means it needs more teeth
