I've waited ALL day to have a good with the hybrid is the snow.... And after going out twice and having to come back in twice due to loose slipper clutch.... I finally get out side with the battery fully charged and boof!! Ten minutes later.... Batteries dead.
All I can say is....I'm never buying NiMh again LIPO FTW!!!
Why oh why did I have to damage my 2s ='[
Pffft....NiMh batteries suck >.<

Bear in mind ALL batteries will perform poorly in cold conditions, including lipos. You need to make sure your batts are kept warm right up until you plug them in to use them; something around 100°F is ideal.

Been using batteries in cold weather for years night winter MTB riding and batts hate the cold you can loose as much as 20% power.

I'm Gunna keep it as a back up, but I'm not buying any more of them. 2s and 3s lipo's only!!
Oh and whilst I'm here.... Is it normal for a motor to perform better one way compared to the other way?

Cold weather does seem to zap the power out of batts nimh or lipo like said keep them warm until used. If its brushed then yes it will prob be down to motor timing. If its brushless then no unless esc is not set right.

It's a brushed motor. As long as its the cold effecting it and it's not just a dud battery =]

You can set the reverse power givern to the motor to be lower than the forward power, whitch is probably why the reverse power of you motor is worse than your forward power. You dont really need loads of reverse power anyway.
I've never had a problem with lipos or nimhs blowing up in the cold but i have read on the trak power batterys warrenty sticker that if charged below -7 celcius it will ruin you battery.

It was the other way around, reverse was immense....it would wheel spin front a stand still. But forward wouldn't wheel spin. But since swapping the wires on the motor around its alot quicker forward than it was before.
