Well I have finally got round to starting the rebuild... YAY! (for me)

Many of my parts are have been ordered and received but a few other parts are shipping in from the US so they should be here by the time I start putting it together. (weather permitting)

I have owned this baja v1 for two years now and boy has it been blast! These things are so much fun. Anyway my plans for a build have been coming for a long time now, when I first bought the car, I gave it a full strip down and added the essential parts (Battleswitch, new radio gear, High tec servos) and then had the plan to buy parts as I went along. This was working well for a time and ebay always had some great bargains every now and again but I began to feel as if the car was just a mix of random parts. So I thought sod it, lets just get it on ;)

Here are a few picks of the car so far...

Yeah, I have a predator pipe, Numb-nuts creations 6mm billet front&rear braces and a lovely set billet alloy front brakes that I have been running with for some time now :)

The roll cage, wing and fastrax exhaust were not really to my taste but as I only got them all for £15, I can't complain :)

Thanks for the replies guys, got some more pics for y'all :)

Well I have managed to get the car completely stripped down and had a go at de-anodising all of the ally...

As you can see, it look likeed a well ragged chassis (had some good times)

Never having done this before, I decided to try it with a test piece as I will not need this anymore. Most of the Chassis parts are that shade of Grey... Quite nice IMO

Happy with the test and moving on....

Job done... Shiny :)

However, it all did not got too well. The anodising of the KM top braces must only held on to the alloy by the collective will from the sweatshop workers of the factory that made it. Really it came off within moments of me putting it in the caustic soda, In fact the Alloy started to go black with what was left of the anodising was still coming off. Maybe they should use the same adhesive that's used for the bloody KM logo!  XD

It's a good feeling having a little progression already. It might not last too long if I have to wait for the postman, he still has to bring my roll cage and screw set.
