Has my esc failed when Im running the car after a while the steering seems to lock  to one direction and at a standstill continually hunts and does not centre. Switch off on its ok for a whille then I loose steering control again. sits and hunts any ideas anyone. This has caused a couple of bad smacks and the esc has come off its mount. :xd:

Would any of these be suitable

Hello mate
If it is the esc that plays up, its just because they are shockingly badly built,
Mine caught fire, and i simply threw it away
And got a HPi V2 reload.
Is fine now,
the wiring on the solder isnt allowing enough current thru,
So mine started jumping and then not responding!
All in all i have had just about every problem with every part,
Very reluctant to run smoothly,
Otherwise check your receiver is binded with controller,
And your terminals arent to loose?
(had them problems to lol)
hope this helps you solve your problems
Cheers dan

If yours is brushless, then neither of them ESC's will be any good.

Hmmmm..... Low batteries in transmitter?
Faulty reciever?

Take it back to where you bought it from, see what they say.

A replacement like for like ESC is £40 from MSUK.

Esc is in bits ( after collision) so recon its that . My carnage  is the brushed version.
Sent off for waterproof ansmann sirious esc..

So far have went through 2 bumpers, clutch parts due to my bad setting of the gear mesh and now a esc but it has been used every other day in sub artic  weather up here in Moray. So its had
A hard life so far.

Cool have recieved new esc today. http://www.ebay.co.u...b#ht_1382wt_909 l

Set up fine loads of settings just a bit fiddly to set but basics seem fine.

I ve ended up strapping it to the front end of the top plate to give it plenty cooling.

Sweeeet. My advice, move stuff around and try and squeeze a 8.4/9.6v battery in. it's tricky ... But well worth it =D

why would the esc effect the steering its the rx that controls how the servo moves to steer the esc controls forward and reverse motion

To be honest if your steering is twitching its probably to do with the rx, os poss tx, but i would say the rx first, try swapping the crystals,
Or better still go for a 2.4 setup

After a lot of swapping bits withe my boys car found actually the servo had went lala.
So had some cash left from crimbo. I actually get "Beer Money" from wifey. Never marry a Banker. :tease:

So have went with a Ansmann W5 2.4 radio set up Under 30 quid cant be bad
Ansmann Sirius waterproof ESC
Taxxas water proof servo

Good ole Fleabay

The esc still works, just i think as does the original tranmitter/reciever set. Will do as a back up As my son and I seem to break stuff quite regulary :hahadance:. As where we run our cars its an old deroofed warehouse vast expanse of openeness but the wall are a bit HARD when you hit them :tank:

Took the Carnage out this avo for a spin on the PERMAFROST. and seems to be fine

It hasn't for me.... Yet XD

I'm not one for form over function. I dont care how it looks, as long as it works. And it does. Apart from the battery falling out after going over rough ground.... And that's the vantage with a chaise hugging shell.  But then... ATM..... The battery is only held in by the body. I've tried various things to stop it.... My next trick is Velcro =]

I`d go for the RX,I had a slight prob with this myself twiching and hunting but mine centred when i put in a fully charged lipo so I thought this was the cause of my poor range too so took it outside with a fully charged battery still had a crap range so i ordered a new rx put it in the other day and all is now fine and range is back to normal.
