Not only that mate but if he planning on modding it you can still do all that and it will still be cheaper than a hpi.
My rovan cost me in total £670 ish
but that covers everything
Fees from customs
car
30.5 OBR
windows
killswitch
rollcage mod
side guards
bumpers
hitec 5765 servo
Alloy clutch bell
Hostile spur

like has been said hpi is made of a better quality to KM or roven but they never stay std for long i.e when something brakes you can replace with stock parts or upgrade / hopup to better parts

I run HPI parts on my sandrail as my baja isn't really a baja 5b its a cage with hpi bits on it. Although it has got a KM fuel tank which was alot cheaper and has done me alright so I am not dissing the KM brand to the point of destruction. Just wouldn't have one.
RC-addict if you want a productive view, I would go for 30.5cc one.

Tbh there better than the engines on the v2. Ive seen the 29cc in a km baja and its a very good motor. The km bajas are very good cars otherwise so many people woulden't have them. The engine in the hpi v2 is afterall a clone of a zenoah so........ no difference there.
Edit: The engine is the v2 hpi is so slow you will end up changing it out if you ever go off-road anyway...

Depends what you use it for of course, mine's been at most 5 foot off the ground, dare say if you go throwing it off 20ft jumps it'll die a lot quicker, but i'd imagine that'd weaken/break most rc's eventually.
Way i look at it is if i buy a HPI i spend 700 quid (or there abouts) then have to replace what breaks or upgrade as required. If i buy the clone it might break slightly quicker, but i've got £300 in the kitty for when it does, at which point i can buy HPI/better parts anyway
