yes but look at the engineering that went into it and i am sure there are plenty of people out there that would love to have it on there shelf. i know i would love to have the money to spend on that even if i only took it out once in a blue moon and spent the rest of its time sitting pretty on a shelf next to my TV

Definitely. Its a very accurate scale model, and the price reflects that. If I had the money, I'd probably buy one for the experience of owning it and building it. However, it was never intented to be a cheap basher to launch off jumps. Tamiya have plenty of other cars in their range that do that well (heck, see that Nissan Titan for example!).

Tamiya America released information on two new "sort of" re-released for the Tamiya vintage fan in the form of the Toyota Celica GT-Four and the Group C Joest Porsche. The Celica was originally released in 1991 and based on the TA-01 platform at that time. The re-release makes use of the iconic rally car body and combines it with the TT-01 Type E 4WD electric budget chassis. The kit comes with front and rear gear differentials, plastic bushings on all rotating parts and friction dampers. Included are a 540-size brushed motor and Tamiya's TEU-104BK speed controller. Included are the clear GT-Four body with sticker sheet and a bonus pack of matte-plated medium-narrow wheels.

The second new item is the Newman Joest Racing Group C Porsche based on the RM-01 1/12 scale chassis. The car that won the 1984 Le Mans 24 Hours comes with a 2.5mm fibre glass chassis plate, rear pivot ball link suspension, ball differential, the possibility to use hex hub and 3-bolt rear wheels and includes a 380-size brushed motor. The kit comes with a clear polycarbonate body and sticker sheet to depict the Newman livery and the driver.

GT-Four ST165 looks wicked!
I need substantially more money to feed my Tamiya RC car addiction
