Hi everyone
I had many RC cars, drifters, on road, offroad, nitro, electric but now i would like something like the car on the video below. I haven't got a lot to spend like £200 pounds im looking for something around £100. Is there any car that would be suitable and good. I would prefer a brand new one because i like building kits. What are the runtimes on normal 7.2v battery packs?

Thanks for any help!!!

hi fella, that in the vid as you probably know is a axial scx10 honcho, fantastic bit of kit is the scx10.
but, if you want one of those your going to be looking at between £250-350 for either a kit and rest of bits (electrics, batteries and charger) and a ready to run version.

for your budget, get yourself a maverick scout rock crawler, and make yourself a chassis and scale body and you have a scaler. job done! £125ish, new and rtr.

batteries last ages in these things, when i used to run nimhs, (4500mah orion rocket pack) it would last at least a couple of hours, with lipos, 2x 2650 2s lipos will last me a days running easily.

hope this helps, gaz.

your not going to get a brand new scaler for £100, they are one of the most expensive cars to buy and hold their value second hand as well if its just a crawler you want what about the maverick scout http://www.modelspor...0&ChassisID=758

beaten to it by gaz lol

THanks for the replies. im not really interested in the more expensive cars for now as i dont know if i will like it. THe maverick scout looks quite descent. Will i be able to fit some other scale bodies on it like land rover or hilux?

I'm toying with either a Scout or a losi micro 1/24 scale - thinking more of the losi as would be using indoors???

with a little tinkering you will get any body you like to fit.  it will more than likely involve knocking up some body mounts but nothing too extreme.

you will be able to set it at any height you feel right, i mounted a hpi landrover shell onto a ax10 for my lads first car, looked smart, its just a case of a little measuring and eyeing it up to see what you thinks right.

hi m8
i can vouch for the scout even in standard trim they do work very well

ive fitted mine with an axial shell as wanted it to look different pretty much any 1/10 crawler shell can be made to fit
so your not really limited to the scout's own shell i also found that the scouts shell was heavier than the copy cheap shell
it now has i can only assume the original is made of thicker lexon
if you look lower down you will see wot i have done to mine to improve it

hth

Simon
