What easy mods are there for keeping the micro sct cool?  Get hot in no time with my lipo.

you could try a alloy motor mount and cutting apart away from the chassis were the motor sits something like this or you could try a carbon chassis then your mototo will get plenty of air to it

i went to the extent of doin a chassis conversion on mine to stick a 1/18 brushless combo in. its freakin mental but it eats diffs

P.S. What's getting hot; the motor or is this a melted pinion problem?

the problem with the pinion is more to do with the motor mount than the heat the motor produces although the heat is a contributing factor, the stock plastic mount is very flimsy and allows alot of play in the mesh between pinion and spur

I had the same problem melting pinions and motor getting way to hot on lipo.

Just made mine brushless and lipo now after 5mins the motor hits 50 degrees, which is fine but the estimated run time is closer to 30mins.  Anyone know what the safe temp is for these little losi motors?

Also does anyone know of a suitably sized fan I could run off the Rx?

Not sure if this any help but here's mine with an open homemade chassis and a heatsink on the motor i run 2s and 3s with no hassle brass pin and metal spur with 18a esc the heatsink is a GWS something or other if you want any info i can dig it out or check out Themicrotforum loads of ideas on there for cooling and cheap or free mods here's some pic's anyway

That should do the job not sure if it fits the stock motor thou as i run brushless and haven't got a stocker to try it on
