It works great on the Ansmann W3, so I should think the W5 would be the same.

Fitted mine today with a spectrum DX3C 3 channel an it's fantastic it's also set up to my fail safe, so fail safe kicks in and the engine dies an brakes come on what more could I ask for totally brilliant!!!!

They are mate i have the 2ch one
And im glad i had it on sunday aswell cos my blackout did one when the spektrum radio went out of range
engine went off and stopped dead

Unfortunately not as with any other kill switch.
The HPI 2.4 ghz sets do not provide any way of detecting a loss of radio signal. I would suggest that you consider upgrading your radio.
A kill switch is a must for 1/5 scale
