maverick scout standard inserts but have weighted the wheels, has made a difference with grip
as the tyre now tyres try to mold around what they are climbing but me being me i want more
dont want to weight the wheels anymore can i assume softer inserts can be bought? if so what colour are they? or can i just take a pair of scissors to the standards and trim a bit off the outer?

I'm guessing the scout comes with standard foam inserts.
So, get hold of some memory foam inserts. Much softer and don't bounce like normal foam.

Only problem is with star cutting is the tyre sidewall hasn't got much support so they can fold over when side hilling.

Depends on tyre compound ..

Alot has to do with weight of the crawler aswell..

na cutting the foams wont lead the tyre to collapse if you do it right and is the best way to add more traction, go for about a 16 star pattern and don't go to deep, thats the main reason for the tyre collapsing, about 1/3 way down first you can adjust if you need more.
if you have 2.2 wheels and beadlocks and you want the best tyre n grip go for white h.b sedonas, they stick like a sticky thing at sticky time :)

it would in effect soften the insert but keep its shape and form
bit like swish cheese :whistling:

But if you get some memory foams you don't have to bother anyway.
