Yes its a very good buy, they only cheap as they are discontinuing them in favour of rtr.spares will never be a problem as theres a lot of specialist stuff out there, and allthough i guess on the traditional market the ax10 is the big performer its still about driving ability, mine still does well ( very well :))
Your control gear is fine, you need 3 chanel for the dig, motors, well dont go below 17.5, normal is around 21t, you do really need brushless in the cc as the extra gears in the dig really burn out brushed.
As i say if ya need help with the takedown just shout ok :)
I love my cc and i have had 3

the axial xr10 is now built :) i need to change a few things as the servo that i was sent isn't powerful enough and i'm not happy with the wiring routing despite following the instruction manual.i decided to have a go at air brushing so i bought an airbrush and compressor, but as it's a first attempt it's not very good :( but i'll still put up some pictures taken on my phone

the finish is good i just couldn't get the shadowing effect on the chrome right :( and i wanted more of a contrast on the two types of orange that are blended in, the chrome is some paint i had already from a company called mbs custom paints but i don't think it's available anymore.i did order some faskolor chrome to try but it didn't arrive with my order

some slight changes since building this crawler :whistling: i decided to go body less with it and ordered a bwd mantis chassis :whistling: i also changed the springs for hpi wheely king one's,there softer than the stock axial springs and seem ok,best of all is i already had them so a free upgrade  also as i wont be comping the car i fitted some hub extenders to stop the tyres fouling the springs.i'm still waiting for a new servo and have the wiring to shorten then it's ready to go :hahadance:
anyway here's a picture of the work so far

looks good fella, they always do without the body and the mantis is a good body, did you cut it yourself or buy it, how do you like the torsion rear?

its quite a different ride with that setup, you gonna make body panels for the lower, you wont need to shorten your wires then
