Great to see HN bringing out a new race buggy and they're supposed to be fantastic on the track, shame the cab forward shell makes it look like an invalid carriage though.. :yucky:

those type of shells are thanks to the Proline bulldog, which provides awesome downforce and airflow compared to std designs :good: but agreed there not that pretty to look at, nothing a good paint job cant cure tho :D

Hong Nor introduce their latest 1/8 scale nitro off-road competition buggy called the X3 Sabre. The totally redesigned buggy features loads of 7075-T6 aluminium parts such as the chassis plate, front and rear shock towers as well as 16mm big-bore shock absorbers, chassis braces, suspension pin braces with plastic inserts and more. Other features are a front-mounted battery box for LiPo and NiMH straight packs, a new centre bulkhead with shielded main gear and fibre glass brake discs and of course front and rear anti-roll bars and a "mild" cab forward design. More details will be released soon.

Is the X3 Sabre some sort of pro version of the Ulra LX-2...?

I only spotted the Ultra on sale a week or so back for the first time, and they look pretty similar, but the Ultra is much lower spec and price. Maybe that'll be taking over from the RTR X1X-CR? http://www.modelspor...products/366531

Its more than likely, OFNA cars are OEM'd from all sorts of places, Hong Nor being one supplier.

Steeper frontal area (cab/nose) creates more drag, which can be used as downforce, so more front end grip. Been in use since the mid-2000s but manufacturers are putting them in kits now more and more tracks suit them (its more a low grip choice, like dirt tracks. Most tracks in America are dirt.
