merry xmas !

LOL! My name is Mark too :D

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I sold one of the 1515's to Roie in exchange for cash, a radio system and the RCM parts I need.
Didn't need it anyway so may as well give it a good home!

Update time :good:

As you know I know an Neu 1717, finally got round to fitting it today :D

Bought an RC Monster mount, and had to file it to get the screws in, as the 1717 uses m4 screws.
Also, I'm using a 26T mod1 pinion, which is large enough that it covers the screws that I used to adjust the gear mesh
Made meshing a bit of a pain, but I got there in the end.

Bought a load of stainless steel screws and washers for mounting. The cap head screws look really nice, but protruded out a bit to much, hitting the pinion :(
So I had to use countersunk screws instead.

As the 1717 is quite large, the centre diff needed to be raised up a bit, so I used 6 washers under each corner.

Rebuilt the centre diff with new oil and bearings too.

Really need to get a new shell, just waiting for TC Models to come back in stock for the Jconcepts Illuzion shells.

Ordering some GRP rally tyres soon for the speed runs, also need to do another RC Monster order and get a pinion and some drive cups, and get some custom machining done for the speed project.

I'll definitely get it on video, hoping to go to ROSSA with it and break 100mph :good:

:D

Thanks for the comments, it should be pretty quick as it is, however I've ordered a 30T pinion from RC Monster, and I'm going to swap the 46T spur for a 26T spur :D

Robins 87mph Hyper comes to 89mph on the speed calculator (with slightly smaller tyres than he was running.
This on 30/26 comes to 138mph :D

So, it's got the gearing, just need the aerodynamics, and the ESC not to blow up on me!

Surely a 26t spur ain't even big enough to cover the diff case??? Got a link?

Yep it doesn't cover the diff case, hence the custom machining I'm having done :D
I'm basically replacing the centre diff with an 8mm bar which I can slide an 8mm bore pinion onto :good:

It does mean that I have to shorten the drive shafts though, as I will be using drive cups, and they protrude out more than the standard centre diff cups.

Yeah I will bash it, but not for a while, want to keep it nice and clean while I work on it. Got the ERBE its own electronics now so I can use them both :good:

I did try to fit it, but I could not get it in without buying some different sized pinions and spurs, so no it will be staying in the buggy :P
Hoping to have the most mentally overpowered car at the bashes :D

I think you'll succeed.

Revo spurs are only £2.38! Do it! Though not sure your diffs will agree!

Thanks guys!

Did a little test today running 7S, I was surprised that the ESC did indeed beep 7 times which is good.
LiPos were at storage voltage, so this isn't the full speed.
Speed calc says its good for 96mph on 7S :D
