  1. Check the jumper setting on the motherboard isnt on "clear bios". If that fails you might be having some shorting issues somewhere.
  2. Can people give their opinions on this monitor: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quick...efinement=11002 Great contrast ratio/response time/connectivity and am i right in saying all samsung monitors come with 3-year warranty? Is this an old screen because it seems very cheap for what its capable of.
  3. Cheers everyone! I'll have a look in the electrical stores tomorrow to see if theres any bargins and if not, one of the samsungs online do look nice and only
  4. Thanks for the replies. Basically I have no need for HDMI or Scart connections, just need VGA. My 360 is an oldey with no HDMI so will be connected via VGA. Laptop will also be connected via VGA and since il be watching TV through it, i wont need a freeview box hence scart is also pointless. Il just connect each one up when im using them. Resolution, didnt think there was any point in going to 1080p. Was considering increasing my budget for one because unlike TV's where normally getting a 1080p at normal viewing distances is pointless, with this screen you will be sitting a lot closer. But if the difference is still marginal, theres no point! Any recommendations on makes/stats/places to buy?
  5. Im actually in search for a 22" Monitor for my room (which is small!) so i can hook up Xbox 360, Laptop and using a freeview card on my laptop, also have the ability to record and watch tv. Obviously i want it as cheap as possible, and will probs spend
  6. Same as the OPster, im considering upgrading from XP Media Center to Vista on my laptop (Core2Duo T5600 1.83ghz, 2GB RAM). I was worried about performance as even now, my laptop can occasionally lag. Also i wasnt sure which version to go for, 32 or 64. I thought there were compatibility issues using 64bit OS and i may have a hard time finding some programs to actually work. Since i havent been in touch with computers for years, could you please explain if there will be any compatibility issue or is this more of a problem from the past?
  7. US Gallon = 3.7litres ish UK Gallon = 4.5litres ish Therefore after doing the math, O'Donnell is quite expensive but it is quality fuel. I used to use Tornado 25% and buy it in 5litre tins. It worked out at good value for a decent fuel. Never got along with Model Technics but last time i used it was around 3 years ago. Maybe Modelsport UK's varient of the MT fuel is a big improvement? Cant say because i've never tried it.
  8. Hi all, Need an All In One printer and can only spend a maximum of
  9. Cheers for the replies fellas, I tried to solve a problem i have with a simple question but it appears I may have accidently mixed up AC and DC concepts in "simplifying it" lol. Basically the problem arrised from my house's wiring where i had 50v showing on a neutral wire which goes from one end of my house to the other, and just to be more confusing the wire is disconnected on both ends . I thought there may be some voltage in the neutral (hence OP) and presumed maybe this wire was in a junction box somwhere with a shared negative from other circuits, but it turns out that these stray voltages in the neutral wires only have a p.d of 2-3v agaisnt earth, which has rid my theory. Looks like a case of gutting out the wiring to see whats going on. Looks like I need a builder not an electrican! Thanks for all your help tho
  10. Hi all, Just a quick question. If you have an earth which 0v and a closed circuit, then connect it in a closed circuit between the positive end of a 240v cell and resistor i take it you will have get a P.D of 240v. However if you connect the same earth at the negative end of the cell, will there still be a P.D? Will it possibly be 240v/0v? Quick diagram: Thanks
  11. Easy to change mate. Google N80 dissasembly. I used a vid i found on youtube but dont think its on there anymore. Heres a link "how to" dismantle it half way, the rest is just easy screw removal: http://www.formymobile.co.uk/n80lcd.htm The housing i bought was a full housing for about a tenner. Cant remember who i bought it off but was pretty much identical THIS ONE. But i would recommend buying another genuine keypad. Regarding the slider - basically when you dismantle it you will notice rails on the casing of the "lower part of the phone", which the "upper part of the phone" slides on. The rails are basically a tad too wide so its not a tight fit. What i did was using a plastic CD wallets, i cut very fine strips of plastic and i placed 1 strip on each rail. They were attached by sandwiching them between the phone and rail when you screw the rails in. This minor decrease in width made all the difference. Sorry if that made little sense, im not very good at explaining! But when you dismantle the phone, you'll get the gist of it!
  12. Wahey recieved the keypad today and it was definatly genuine Nokia! Finally a keypad that works . Bought it from a company called First2Save on ebay just incase others are looking for genuine phone parts (they have a wide range of parts). Really appreciate the offer doom, but it seems like im sorted now, thanks
  13. That sounds excellent. Wont bother you with fitting, I should be ok with that. Well the one i've ordered is coming tomorrow/monday and if its not original i will get into contact with you mate if thats ok? Cheers again doom PS Didnt realise you worked so close, ok well a 15minute drive lol. I've been going past asda for the past 3 days straight (vulcan road north is near-ish to it, isnt it?).
