So you guys may recall that I got my boy a carnage for his bday. He absolutely loves it. Ok compared to mine it's a slouch but he is only 7 and it's his first proper car. I've told him that when he can show me he can handle the power and control it properly, I'd get better electrics for it. Which he is allready looking forward to. That's not to say I cannot start upgrading the rest of it. I've heard the ftx brand can be brittle and weak. So what should I be looking at replacing on it???

Hiya guys, I am back in the swing of RC again. Been a rough 8 months after splitting with the wife. Won't bore you all with details. But I'm back on my RC again. My boy is happy aswell. He always wanted a "car like daddy's'. Mummy wouldn't let him have one. Now I'm on my own with noone telling me what to do, he opened a brand new carnage for his 7th birthday on Wednesday. He loves it. Even takes it to bed. "Now we can take our cars to the field daddy". I'm really looking forward to it. Question though guys. I want to buy some 2s lipo for it but what is the connector??? I'll keep the lipo with me a he is too young to be trusted at home with it. I just want to get him some for when he comes over.

I use HK, amazon, the bay and look on here. The last one i got was one this site and they have been perfect. My 6s i got from HK lasted 3 runs then swelled beyond use.

Postie brought me some paints ( rattle cans and tins), led lighting for the rig, New shell, lexan scissorsand some more shoe goo. Let the prep begin.

I understand the chinese ones are not great. As i said previously the mrs knowledge isnt great on anything rc. More to the point was the after service we received. It is a case of 'got your money now do one'. Case is now opened with paypal. With all this going on, the mrs let me get a ratrod shell and all paints and gubbins instead. Silver lining and all that.

All the trim were fully to the right yet it still spun left. And if it does not take flight on 3/4 let alone full throttle then it is a massive paper weight. Its a chinese model as thats what they mainly sell. Cannot blame the mrs. She is not into rc like us but still, when you buy something new you expect it to work. Now if they were a tad more apologetic and wanted to do something then fine. The fact that we were called liars and told to open a dispute really shows they value their customers.

So for xmas my other half bought me a decent sized helicopter as my mini one just gave up the ghost. She ordered it from hobby power on ebay. They also trade under howes models. Well i got it out of the box and followed the (mostly useless) instructions. I charged the battery in the chopper and also had some charged AA batteries for the tx. When it came to fly it i was a bit exited and also a bit nervous. Gave a bit of throttle and started trimming it. as the throttle went up i ran out of trim and the heli just sat on the floor spinning. Even at full beans. Took us ages to get hold of them and thier answer was that we crashed it. You cannot crash a heli that does not take flight. Basically told us we are liars and to open a dispute with ebay. Just thought id share the superb customer services recieved by them.
