  1. I thought the esc was 12v in but gave the voltage out lower for the receiver. Never mind
  2. Part of the fun for me is finding ways of doing things and learning new skills. So I'm not worried about a little work. Most of the stuff for the wheelchair and scooter isn't exactly off the shelf. The scooter has had to have a new chassis made, then I've had to make all the wiring looms and make parts from scratch. That's part of the fun for me. I get what your saying about the laws so ill do some research about that
  3. For the seat I'm looking at getting a seat made from metal like in dragsters. It would have full support and a 4 link harness. Like a smaller version of one of these in the picture
  4. Hi everyone. I've not been in the group as I don't have any rc stuff anymore, all my money gets spent on a project I now run called Pimp My Wheelchair Project. As a little side project I've decided to customise a kids ride on car and give it away to charity. I've already got support from a mobility company who have supplied a set of 12v scooter batteries. I'm also fitting a working sound system supplied by Pioneer and JL Audio. The charity I'm giving it to is Starlight Children's Foundation who grant wishes to severely disabled kids. As it's going to a charity for disabled kids I want to make it disabled kid friendly. I thought it would be cool to make it rc so a kid can sit in it and ride round even if they are unable to control it themselves. Can anyone advise me what ill need and does anyone have anything knocking about that I will need? Also I need a new motor for it so what kind of motor would be best to run off 12v?
  5. Thank you. The more I can make my wheelchair and lowrider mobility scooter stand out the more I can raise for charity. I'm thinking a sub for the wheelchair and underglow for the scooter to start lol. A sub would look like this
  6. Checkout what has arrived from HPI Racing. This looks absolutely amazing and when I opened it is just wanted to play lol. Whoever wins is going to be very lucky
  7. Hi everyone Hope this is allowed. As some of you may know I run a project called Pimp My Wheelchair Project, where I've been customising my wheelchair and now I display it at car shows to raise money for charity. Unfortunately this isn't cheap so I have to find raise to keep the project going. Luckily HPI Racing has offered to support the project by giving me a brand new Sprint 2 drift car to raffle off. All funds raised will be used to help the project expand. To enter simply LIKE & SHARE the post on my project Facebook page. Then send £5 via PayPal to [email protected]. the winner will be chosen on the 31st Oct at 6pm on a LIVE video on the project Facebook page. 8. Wish I could back into RC but my wheelchair uses all my funds at the moment lol. Just to refill the NOS bottles for each show it costs £55 each and I have x2 bottles lol. Not a cheap hobby but I like standing out. Here's the side panels I'm making myself using 1mm Styrene Sheet. To get the arches the right shape I actually had them laser cut so they are perfectly smooth.
  9. I've actually test drove one of those before I passed my driving test. It was horrible haha. As for sponsors I already have a few for the project. But it is always expanding lol http://pimpedwheelchair.co.uk/links/
  10. That's a long time ago 53HRA haha. TamiyaCowboy, HPI were supposed to be supporting the project by supplying a set of their largest monster truck wheels. Unfortunately they must have changed their minds as they stopped emailing me. NuttyProfessor, you got any pictures? I'd love to add them to my website. Carp Martin, for the wheelchair I have a new Pioneer headunit kindly supplied by them. I also need to finish the custom body-kit I'm making and get that painted. The scooter is getting more lighting, sound system and a trailer to carry extra batteries
  11. I've not been on here in years so thought I'd post an update. Now that the wheelchair stands out I take it to car shows to display it and raise money for charity Currently it has a custom underglow kit, Nitrous purge system, solar panel, modified wheels, custom seat and now a working car sound system. To expand the project I also now have a mobility scooter which was given tion me by CareCo Mobility to do anything I'd like to. This currently has custom paint job, modified seat, 7inch led light bar and now a system that imitates air suspension like a lowrider. I will soon be fitting a sound system, air horn, underglow kit and larger wheels. Let me know what you think and for more details, pictures and videos checkout the links below. 12. I've seen this today and love it. But do you think it would look good painted as a road truck? I'd love to paint it in a local haulage firms colours, make the 5th wheel work and build a 1/10 trailer. I'd then change the gearing and fit a truck puller motor to slow it down and make it more powerful. What you think?
  13. Hi people, For sale I have some brilliant little beacons which my mate makes and they look great on 1/14 trucks but I see no reason why they won't work on other scales. They run off 6v powersupply (Not included). Also for sale are some chases which have 8LEDs and can be programmed with any sequance you would like. Both come in AMBER unless you provide your own LEDs BEACONS
  14. Hi People, I'm sorry if this isn't the right forum but I thought some of you might also have some trucks and I see no problem with tanks coming too. On the 25th April I've organised a Charity Truck Show at Stocksbridge Youth Centre to raise funds for the centre which is specially designed to bring disabled and able bodied people together. The centre has toilet faculties, kitchen area where snacks will be made, coffee bar so kids can have some sweets, plenty of power sockets for charging. The centre has a large hall where a road layout will be market out and also there is a large field for using tanks. Oranda-Design : Will be donating some custom parts to raffle off and will also have a stall which they will be doing demos on how to do various airbrush technics. FusionHobies : Have donated a RTR Tamiya Subaru which will be raffled off on the day Greg Saynor : Is a local haulage company who will be fetching one of their special airbrushed full size trucks for the children to have a look round and a sit on. Truck Model World - Has donated a 1year subscription which will be raffled off on the day.
