  1. Keep us updated please mate, seen these myself and wondered if it was any good.
  2. I have a 4 channel charger id sell, its only been used as a back up but never needed it. that has 4 screens , one for each port. My lad has one of the smaller toolbox rc chargers, great for small lipos and dead easy to use, thats been going strong for a good while now with no issues. if you want a pic of the charger, let me know and i can pm one over
  3. Deal done. still looking for stuffs, stock and upgrades as well as a half decent micro servo, Hobbywing 1625 esc, small Spektrum dsmr receivers. Very long shot but im after a brown F-150 shell must be as new condition. got stuff to trade/swap or PayPal, cash on collection etc. I'm not after any Bronco bodies, Bronco wheels/tyres or stock Defender wheels/tyres. Thanks for looking
  4. Bump. in need of a half decent micro servo (tr4 preferably) £30 all in, thats the same as buying a pair in the packet before posting…… thank you.
  5. In essence, yes. I wanted to keep my defender as scale as possible so i went for the Injora 53mm shocks, with 55mm tyres, my lad on the other hand went for the 59mm shocks and he has managed to get 62mm tyres but it does rub at extreme axle flex. I can get you a pic of them to compare if thats any use??
  6. Just be weary about the weight you add, it will strain the stock electrics if its mainly brass. personally, steer clear of high clearance links, they leave the driveshaft U.J. Exposed and it getting hung up (ive done this, straight links are definitely the way to go.) stock shocks are approx 53mm, the Injora alloy shocks at 53mm sit perfectly on the defender too, 59mm shocks will work to but raise the truck (something you wanted??). Use 20wt to 30wt oil for the shocks too. if i were spending your money, go for alloy hubs/knuckles (less wear then brass), servo horn and steering link and suspension links. then in brass, go for wheels (or bead lock rings), hexes. It will weigh in less overall but will be able to cope with the current electrics. then learn how to drive it, yes they are a little top heavy (especially if its rammed with scale bits and bobs) but learning to master it is much more rewarding. again, just my thoughts based on what ive built and the terrain i use them on, (this can differ massively too)
  7. Little update of the latest project, Built from the ground up using Traxxas chassis rails, shock towers, gearbox skid, battery tray, axle casings. Upgrades are complete gearbox/gears, driveshafts, links (not the ones pictured), steel diff gears, hubs and knuckles, bearings bumpers, wheels/tyres, shocks and probably more lol. this is the last one im going to build for now (unless a 8x8 gets released then im all over it!!)
  8. As what @Alex97 and @steephill have already said basically, there is the Injora ir40 body available now too which looks great for under £30. also if you have any bits from your build left over, id be happy to buy it off you mate for a quick lift and tyre fix, i would stick on a set of 59mm Injora alloy shocks, then you can get 62mm tyres (swamp claws i think) without too much fouling, offset wheels will help beef it up too along with wheel widening hexes but as already mentioned, you start to lose the “scale” appearance. looking forward to seeing your progress
  9. Nice set up you have there fella.
  10. Price and pictures please fella. Might be worthwhile sticking a bit of paper with your username and date on it too. ill give it until this evening then the thread will be closed if not corrected. cheers.
  11. Last bump before being packed away. still on eBay, always willing to swap trade etc. i am looking for a small 2s brushed esc…..
  12. Fella, that doesnt come as a surprise at all coming from yourself, but, all the posts of “do i?” “Don't i?” Blur the thread of its usefulness for genuine owners or future buyers who use the thread for useful knowledge/tips etc. don't get me wrong, debating a particular rc is always good and welcomed the whole “i hate Traxxas but secretly want one then im not going to buy it and go with something different” does wear thin after a while…. just my two penneth
  13. Apart from the “toy looking” wheels, this does sit quite nicely, the shell, (although could be easily damaged with its sharp corners) looks really good both colour and design. is that a Max6 esc?? If so again, another good touch if it is. how durable it will be is anyone’s guess thats even if we get it to the uk…
  14. Here’s my thoughts, £780 in the states plus a typical delivery service say £20, yeah so thats a bargain considering its an American based company selling to an American customer. now if we want one we have to pay more, first off, shipping, yes “by the boat load” but that and having it flown over has gone up quite a bit recently due to the situation were in at this time. Then when it does arrive to the U.K it has to be unloaded, processed then ready to be shipped off to next, the cost of diesel has also risen along with staff wages and again the world as it is. then onto British trucks, we had a massive shortage during COVID to the extent where i even had a letter asking me if i wanted to return to driving, so wages increased massively if you where a dedicated trucker oh and that old diesel thing again too… so at a regional hub, smaller vehicles delivering to their own distribution hub etc. etc. etc. by the time its in our hands, its been in twenty others too all at a cost to us at the end of the chain. but some people (myself included) choose to, shall we say, suck up this cost, because its what we have chosen to buy, its the reality we live in today im afraid. Don’t forget that all us rc’ers are fortunate to have this little bit of luxury when so many cant afford to “exist” the other option would be to fly over and get one in your luggage for the return trip, would that cost more than £310 to do?? I genuinely have no idea so yeah, thats my thoughts, also just to mention, the hobby shop slice of the pie is very small too….
  15. Yeah but the X-maxx is now one of the all time great rc. That being said, i really do like that shade of green
