£130ish for the brushed version. b/l £220 odd I think - so unless there's any other changes then the brushed version and upgrading yourself is the better option.

Must admit I quite like this.... especially at £130.

Release date just before my birthday too.....

Have been looking a little harder, though very little info avail.Noticed on the brushed version at MS there's a few more pics:

Chassis looks nicely ribbed, usual hex hardware :thumbsup: though a plastic spur and no sign on a slipper unfortunately

Think I'll get the brushed version, hoy a Hobbywing combo and rubber shielded bearings in to it and get some better hoops. Should still cost me less than the brushless.

Lol, looks like a cheap version of the twin hammers, buy a used yeti and have a better all round truck :good:

FTX don;t make anything afaik, there more a brand name. Hopefully FTX have learnt from the Viper and Sidewinder though.

I've looked a few times at a Yeti, though only superficially, and the impression I get is it needs cash throwing at it. What's a useable used Yeti go for?

They have seemingly sorted the plastics on the Surge range so there's a fair chance these will be better.

Judging by some of the recent prices of used yetis, sub £200 will get you a decent set up, brushless the lot...

the its needs x amounts spending on it is tosh!

If it's used for intended purposes you should be fine.

only thing I would buy is cvd's on the front and beef tubes in the rear axle, then enjoy :good:

I'm waiting until the first beta tester (Guinea pig ???) gets their hands on one.

Wonder if the brushless will have better parts than the brushed or if it's only the motor thsts the difference?

So would I but my RC budget is about to take a massive hit. Will be paying the balance for the option packs for my Armortek tank I ordered last week. Only another £2,255.00. :crybaby:

I put the money aside when I sold my house last Xmass Definately a once in a lifetime opportunity to get my dream RC. No way I can logically justify spending so much on a toy, albeit a big one. Fortunately the car only has 35,000 miles on it and as it isn't needed to go to work anymore it shouldn't need replacing for quite a while.

Spoke to Alun. He's getting the Outback crawler early next month and this Outlaw desert truck late next month (on release, basically). The brushed Outlaw is only £140, which is a bargain in my opinion! The brushless... not so much! £240 for the same truck with the Etronix Photon 2.1 brushless system, which costs less than the £100 difference!

We'll do a reveal video on either, or both, if people are interested.

Anyway, he's offering free delivery on the Outlaw, if you want it? Never mentioned the Outback, but I don't see why he wouldn't offer the same, unless it has a waaaay lower RRP.

I'm still working on funds to get one, agree completely on the price difference for the BL version, sure the blue shell is nicer but if it proves a durable budget RC i'll be on the lookout for a clear shell anyway.
