JConcepts Ford F-250 1993 Cab Monster Truck Body

During the mid-1990’s the full-scale monster truck racing scene was at its all-time most competitive. Never before had so many factory backed teams competed for the coveted racing championships during that time period. The Ford bodies were always successful; however, never had one style been so dominant. The 1993 Ford F-250 body was the standard and the top of the line in terms of looks, popularity and performance back during this hey-day of monster truck racing.  Never before has this body style been available for 1/10th scale Monster Truck racing, that is until JConcepts pulled the trigger.

For the ninth generation, the body-shell of the 1993 F-Series was given another major upgrade. To further improve its aerodynamics, the forward bodywork was given a slightly lower hoodline, rounding the front fenders and grille. The “Blue Oval,” a trademark of all Ford pickups, makes a striking appearance centered in the grille. Stout fender flares are carved ever so carefully in to the panels while openings allow for a vast assortment of tires on the market. The F-250 SuperCab is so versatile that passengers could ride in comfort in the front and rear seat compartment!

    Features:

    - Officially licensed by Ford to JConcepts

    - Body measures a 12.50” wheelbase and a 7” width

    - Fits a variety of R/C monster trucks including the Tamiya Clod Buster

    - Scale inspired body, cab and window design

    - 1:1 headlight and grill treatment

    - Includes attachable Racerback

    - Clear heavy-duty polycarbonate with protective film

    - Window masks and detailed Ford sheet included

    - Part #0326

    Shell looks OK.

I am more interested in what's underneath it! Looks like a nice chassis :) Anyone know what it is?

It does look like a nice chassis!

For the body, looks OK, but there's no recess / rim around the tray - very 'flat'.

I prefer to see a moulded rim.

My thoughts exactly I thought clod upgrades at first but can't be if you guys don't know.

The rim around the bed could be fixed easy with some creativity even just a bead of shoo goo painted with a brush.

I wonder if it's the new axial monster jam chassis? I've only heard of that and seen one or two Google images tho. Looks nice.

Jconcepts using a Proline product in their advert? Sense check needed:P

It's a Crawford Gauntlet Chassis or a their newer Barbarian. It's meant for a Clod but works with AR60s. Their Barbarian chassis is the AR60 specific one, which I'm building at the moment. It has their trailing arms on it as well.

The Axial custom MT is this, it's a chop up of two Yetis I believe.

Yeah, it's great that proper MTs are back. Certainly liking the Jconcept body for my truck but they've not released details on when the wheels are being released.

Slightly off topic but this is the aluminium version and being delivered Saturday according to the customs payment form I just filledout: http://crawfordperformanceengineering.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_22&products_id=655 so I can report back on it, but if you want to see them in action, check out Trigger King on Youtube. Lots of guys use them.
