I use a shop called Veals for most of my fishing gear

A cheapo combo like this would be good enough to start with

A rod rest is must, nothing worse than having to hold your rod all day long (twss)

Line wise, go for 15lb with a 60lb leader for clean ground ie sand/shingle and go up to 25/30lb if fishing off rocks

Rigs I would start with 2 hook flappers with size 2 hooks, these will pretty much catch anything out there

Start with 5oz weights, plain ones for when there is no tide and grippers with wires when the tide runs

Bait.... Mackerel and or ragworm catch most sea fish

as above but

ragworm can be expensive and not fresh so if you can get the most fresh bait possible. you can also dig your own rags on the beaches if you know what to look for ;)
if your very  new to lobbing i would try some pier fishing first , its gonna allow you to get out beyond the breakwater and those sandbars/chanels  also gives you some playtime with the rod setup to. DO NOT get a casting reel aka multiplyer unless you have the means to run them, if not your going to end up with a lotta messy line tangles and next to no time in the water, so a standard beefy bail arm reel is the way to go.

also youtube throwing techniques , theres a couple ways the loft that weight out, but do it wrong and you could end up tipless rod setup lol. or a secotion of rod coming uncoupled and sailing of to dave jones locker with your weighted baits lol

habour fishing is fun to
