Ive changed batterys. Swaped crystals and still no luck. Any ideas?

Ive tryed batterys. Swaped crystals. I did get it working off the car but it twitched then went ok then died again.can a receiver screw up if you connect a hump back battery to it? To much voltage for eg? Do the crystals on go in one way. ?

the crystals have to be TX in the transmitter and the RX one has to be in the receiver.   As for voltage  a hump back pack could damage it.  so what receiver are you using as 6V might of been to much for it.

Its a standard traxxas t maxx transmitter and receiver. Ive checked the crystals and they are fine. Just wondering if the wiring is ok as it looks pretty old.

The minus wire will degrade over time on RC electrics.  Try plugging it all in then move the wires about to see if there is a fault.
