Sk8inDuck
Hi guys, I was wondering it anyone had some good tips for painting bodyshells to look rusty and weathered? What sort of brushes, paint, techniques ect.? I'm looking for a very realistic, rusted 50's car look. Side note: Does anyone know if I can get white wall tyres? monsterman26
i tried it a few years ago on my havoc, used a really dark red and sprayed one thin-ish coat but also slightly uneven then sprayed that black. did look pretty good! as for whitewall tyres, tip-ex is your friend
Noj
Lexan or hard plastic shell? Have a look at the deluxe materials scenic rust kit, for hard shells anyway....the rest comes down to painting/sanding accordingly to achieve the paint look, then add the rust on afterwards....more for display than bashing, although a Matt clear coat (from a motor spares supplier, NOT the model grade stuff) should help seal it. atom3624
Check the Replica section - there's some great work on there. Al.
