daymo your tyres look just like mine!

these are the ones i was looking at earlier, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-arrow-1-10th-buggy-tyres-pre-mounted-on-spoke-wheels-2-front/rc-car-products/33228 does it matter that they are slightly bigger then stock wheels?

im not 100% sure but i think the stock motor would struggle with bigger wheels and it would make the motor and esc run hotter

what gearing should i use, i only ask because i dont even know what the mini 8ight is running, is it 16t for the pinion?

Will these fit instead?

I may be wrong (it's not unheard of) but as far as I've read up its only really 1/10 touring car wheels that are used, they are slightly bigger than stock wheels but not too big, don't think I've seen 1/10 buggy tyres on a M8ight, surely bigger wheels/tyres will be much harder to get moving initially??

Save your money they dont fit.. well they do fit the wheel hex but the centre hole is too big and they have a deeper hex so when you tighten them up they bind everything up .. same for all the fastrax 1/10th buggy rims

As for the GT14b shocks you can always just get a pin drill and a set of drill bits and drill out the stock ones for a smoother action ..The stocks are alloy not plastic thats what i did and there as smooth as silk

Try these out they are cheap enough to buy and if they fit you know where to get the other styles they sell. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4PCS-1-10-On-Road-RC-Car-Wheel-Rim-Tyre-Tires-Y6T1C-/160690835100?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2569eb8e9c

So what wheel should i be looking at because i want something different, not stock

1/10th touring car wheels and tyres are what you want.. A 12mm hex 0 offset is like stock and for a wider stance you can go all the way up to 9mm offset .. i have seen people use a 3mm offset on the rear and 0 off set front i prefer a 0 offset all round .. But watch out as not all will fit some will catch the front steering ball cup .. Or the inner dia might be too small .. i use these so i know they fit as for tyres there's loads of on road not so many off road though

Wheels

as for on road tyres there's plenty to choose from

Let us know how you get on with those wheels, especially the black and green ones!!!!

just got these http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-1-10th-touring-wheel-rally-block-5-spoke-white/rc-car-products/365690 and whilst i was told they will fit.................. They don't lol, put a shim between the wheel and the hex and it's sorted, great grip from the tyres but not ideal by any means!!

just shredded my spur gear 30 mins ago :crying: thats my rc bashing done for this weekend!!

same here but like 2 weeks ago lol, the reason myn had stripped is because i was driving and i think on of the motor screws got loose and it would strip the spur when ever i had braked quickly. i had meshed it with my model shop guy and it was tight it to go fast then we had loosened it and then it started stripping ever since. i can mesh it now :(

I've got HPI touring car rims with rally cross tyres and also a set of Schumacher white dish wheels with pin tyres and both sets are smaller than the stock wheels and tyres so you loose a bit of top end speed as a result. The other thing to consider is you loose a bit of ground clearance but I guess that's less important on road.

Fit is perfect and no rubbing the turn buckles/rod ends.

Definitely worth a go.
